This is the third and final in a series of three video modules that provides a comprehensive review of the types, options, features, and appropriate use of potential seating solutions, as well as how to match them to specific seating needs. The modules were developed from a series of presentations by Elizabeth Cole at VGM Group, Inc. 2012 Heartland Conference. This module examines features and use of secondary seating supports and accessories. You should complete the three modules in order as they provide a continuum of knowledge. You should also complete the following courses BEFORE starting this series: SEAT001 - The Biomechanics of Seating and SEAT003 - The Mat Evaluation for Wheeled Mobility and Seating. Learning objectives: 1. Describe the function and appropriate use of anterior pelvic supports, lateral pelvic supports and a pelvic obliquity build-up; 2. Describe the function and appropriate use of leg troughs, leg length discrepancy cuts, lateral upper leg supports, lateral knee supports, medial upper leg supports, anterior knee supports and residual limb supports; 3. Describe the function and appropriate use of heel loops, ankle straps, toe loops, foot positioners and foot boxes; 4. Describe the function and appropriate use of I-backs, T-backs, lumbar supports, posterior lateral pelvic supports, anterior trunk supports, anterior shoulder supports and fixed tilt; 5. Describe the function and appropriate use of arm troughs and upper extremity support surfaces. To successfully complete this module, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the module training survey. Continuing education: VGM Education is authorized by IACET to offer 0.2 CEUs for this program. RESNA and NRRTS approve the 0.2 IACET CEUs for recertification.
