SEAT002b - Steps in the Provision of Wheeled Mobility and Seating - Part 2

This is the second of a 2-part series that will provide a description of each of the steps that are recommended in the prescription and provision of wheeled mobility and seating devices. The first part of this series explained the team approach to evaluating for wheeled mobility and seating, the referral process, the client interview, and the physical evaluation components of the clinical evaluation. This course will cover the remainder of the steps involved in the evaluation process.

Learning objectives:

1. List the basic steps in the delivery process of seating and mobility equipment;
2. List the components of the functional portion of the clinical evaluation for wheeled mobility and seating, and describe how each component relates to choosing the correct equipment;
3. List the components of the environmental portion of the wheeled mobility and seating, and describe how each component relates to choosing the correct equipment;
4. Describe what is meant by the person-product match;
5. List at least four advantages to equipment simulation and trials;
6. List at least five benefits of outcome measures.

To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
